1. Who we are

The data controller for Atom Apps is Luke Chapman, sole trader, trading as Qwixl, of Old Furnace Cottage, Greendale, Oakamoor, Stoke-On-Trent, ST10 3AP, United Kingdom. Contact: support@qwixl.com.

2. What this policy covers

This policy applies to Atom Apps at atom.apps.qwixl.com, including the public catalog, developer console, checkout facilitation, and related APIs. Other Qwixl products (for example Homework, Milo, Streams) have their own product sections on qwixl.com/privacy.

3. The personal data we collect

  • Identity and account data — email, display name, and authentication session data for developer accounts.
  • Listing and publish data — module metadata, descriptions, pricing, and bundle storage references you submit.
  • Purchase and entitlement data — module id, amounts, timestamps, Stripe identifiers, and owner identifiers needed to issue and renew entitlements.
  • Usage and technical data — server and security logs (including IP address and request metadata) to operate and protect the Service.
  • Communications — support enquiries you send us.

We do not store payment card numbers. Cards are processed by Stripe.

4. Lawful bases

We process personal data on one or more of: performance of our contract with you; our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Service (where not overridden by your rights); compliance with a legal obligation; and consent where we ask for it, which you may withdraw.

5. How we use your data

We use personal data to create and manage accounts; publish and serve listings; facilitate checkout and entitlements; invoice or collect store fees; send service communications; keep the Service secure; and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal data. We do not use personal data for third-party advertising.

6. Sharing and sub-processors

We share personal data only with processors that help us run the Service, under contracts requiring them to protect data and use it only on our instructions:

  • Supabase — database, auth sessions, and file storage for bundles and records.
  • Vercel — web hosting and edge delivery.
  • Stripe — Connect accounts, Checkout, and payment processing. Stripe holds card details; we do not.

We may disclose data where required by law or to protect our rights, users, or safety.

7. International transfers

Your data may be processed in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area. Some sub-processors may operate in the United States. Where we transfer data outside the UK or EEA we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses. Details are available on request.

8. Retention

We keep personal data while your account is active and for a limited period afterwards where required for legal, accounting, security, or dispute purposes, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Purchase ledger entries needed for fee accounting may be retained for statutory periods.

9. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your personal data; have inaccurate data corrected; request erasure; restrict processing; data portability; object to processing based on our legitimate interests; and withdraw consent where we rely on it.

To exercise your rights, email support@qwixl.com from the address registered to your account. We respond within one month unless the request is complex. You may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

10. Children

Atom Apps is aimed at adults and organisations publishing or installing agent modules. It is not directed at children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child in error, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Cookies and similar technologies

The site uses strictly necessary cookies and local storage for sign-in, security, and theme preference. We do not use advertising cookies on Atom Apps.

12. Security

We use technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is completely secure; you are responsible for keeping account credentials safe.

13. Modules on your device

After install, modules run in your Atom shell under Atom’s runtime rules. We do not require daily phone-home for installed modules to keep working. Online contact is needed for purchase, first install of store listings, and periodic entitlement renewal.

14. Changes and contact

We may update this policy and will update the “last updated” date above. For material changes we will notify you by email or a notice on the Service where appropriate.
